Technical workshop – mdw Vienna

During the Vienna Talk 2022 conference, a special session was organised where VRACE ESRs presented their research to all conference participants and other visitors.

Furthermore, a public tutorial course was held, where Maarten van Walstijn (QUB) discussed several aspects regarding the design of virtual acoustic instruments.

Finally, a farewell event was organised, which consisted of a series of team-building games in Stadtpark, a large municipal park in Vienna, followed by a go-cart race in-line with the project’s acronym.

7th Board Meeting

For the first time since the last two years, the consortium met in person right before the start of Vienna Talk. The hybrid setting allowed to join the meeting from abroad, too.

Main topics were the final steps for the amendment process and the planning for the last year including outreach activities and publications.

6th Board Meeting

For the fourth time the Board Meeting took place virtually. 12 members of the consortium and the coordinator’s team discussed topics like the upcoming puplications, the next technical workshop and the planned outreach activities. The consortium paid also tribute to its member Prof. Armin Kohlrausch who passed away in April 2022.

4th Board Meeting

For the second time the Board Meeting took place virtually. 17 members of the consortium and the coordinator’s team discussed topics like the upcoming mid-term meeting, the planning of the secondments and outreach & dissemination activities.

Team Building with all VRACE Researchers

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, it was not possible to meet at Facebook Labs in Seattle in April 2020.  So the MDW organized two virtual team buildings to get to know each other better and discuss synergies among the students. They took place on June 25th and October 21st in 2020. Additionally, it is important to meet virtually as most of the students do their research from home during the pandemic.

Virtual Meeting with all VRACE Researchers

Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the MDW organized two virtual meetings with all 15 Early-Stage-Researchers (ESRs) and their supervisors on June 18th and 25th, 2020.

All students prepared a presentation including their current research work and collaboration possibilities within the network. In the Q&A sessions there was time to connect and to discuss research challenges.

Right after the meeting, a virtual team building event followed to get to know each other better and to discuss synergies.
